Glossary

Budi is a career agent for tech job seekers in Mexico and LatAm: it finds jobs, scores each one against the User, tailors the CV and sends applications, while the User stays in control. This glossary is the single source of truth for what Budi’s words mean on every surface (app, landing, api, agent, copy, billing). Spanish names in quotes are the words the product shows Users.

The product: a career agent that does the job-search grind (find, judge fit, tailor, apply) for a User. Budi supersedes BUDDi; where they differ, Budi’s decisions win.

Avoid: BUDDi, Buddi, Buddy, agentcamp-buddy (all superseded names of the earlier product)

The Delaware company that sells Budi Subscriptions and is the party responsible for Users’ personal data under the privacy notice. It is not Pokta Labs.

Avoid: Pokta Labs (when meaning the seller or the data controller)

The lab that builds and owns the Budi code. It does not sell Subscriptions and is not the privacy responsible party.

The organization behind Frutero, LLC, whose people include the Mentor Techs.

One of the eight things Budi does for a job search: (1) find jobs, (2) evaluate them, (3) tailor the CV, (4) apply, then (5) interview prep, (6) a learning path, (7) build challenges, (8) practice interviews. Steps 1-4 are what Pro delivers; steps 5-8 are Max’s product direction and are not built yet.

A person with a Budi account: in practice a job seeker. Every User has exactly one Plan.

Avoid: customer, member, candidate (in product copy), client

A Budi staff User who runs the service: sets each Plan’s Quotas, can change a User’s Plan, and moderates to protect costs, privacy and security. An Admin is not a customer role and not a Plan.

Avoid: operator, owner (when meaning Budi staff)

A human mentor from Frutero (Mel at launch) who gives Max Users their Career Coaching call. A person, never an AI. The same name in Spanish and English.

Avoid: Frutero Mentor (retired), Mentor Personal, Personal Mentor (those are the AI persona), coach

The AI interview-prep persona that is Max’s product direction: it prepares the User for a company’s process and remembers them across sessions. It is not a person and is not the Mentor Tech.

Avoid: Mentor Tech, mentor (unqualified)

What a User is entitled to: Free, Pro or Max. Every User has exactly one; a new User starts on Free.

Avoid: tier, package

The Plan with no charge: Job search only, at most one per day (the day resets at 00:00 Mexico City time), and no Workspace. Evaluations, Tailored CVs and Managed submissions need Pro.

Avoid: trial, free tier with weekly limits (superseded)

The paid Plan for steps 1-4: Job search, Evaluations, Tailored CVs and Managed submissions within Pro’s Quotas, on the User’s own Workspace. $300 MXN a month, IVA included.

The top paid Plan: everything in Pro with higher Quotas, plus an intro Career Coaching call with a Mentor Tech. $999 MXN a month, IVA included. It is sold now as a Reservation and delivered today by the Mentor Tech; interview prep and the Mentor Personal remain its product direction.

How Max is sold now (“Aparta tu lugar”): the User pays the full Max price, keeps that price locked for as long as the Subscription stays active, gets Max’s Quotas and the Career Coaching call today, and gets first access to Max’s AI features as they ship, with no promised date. Places are limited (20 at launch). A Reservation is a real paid Max Subscription, not a waitlist and not a deposit.

Avoid: waitlist, lista de espera, pre-order

The one intro call (25 minutes) with a Mentor Tech that a new Max Subscription includes. It is human coaching, not a Run.

A User’s monthly payment for Pro or Max, billed by card only and sold by Frutero, LLC. Free has no Subscription. Prices are always shown with tax included.

Avoid: membership, license

What happens when a paid Subscription ends: the User returns to Free, the Workspace is kept, steps that need Pro are refused, and Free’s daily Job search limit applies. Resubscribing resumes on the same Workspace.

Avoid: cancellation (a cancelled Subscription leads to a Downgrade; it does not close the account), deletion

The most of one thing a Plan may use in a Week: Evaluations, Tailored CVs and Managed submissions each have their own. Quotas belong to the Plan, never to an individual User; an Admin can adjust them per Plan. Pro’s defaults are 15 Evaluations, 3 Tailored CVs and 3 Managed submissions a Week.

Avoid: credits, cap, limit (when meaning the weekly Quota)

The period Quotas count over: Monday 00:00 to Sunday, Mexico City time. Free’s Job search limit is daily, not weekly.

Avoid: rolling week

What a new User submits to finish sign-up: their CV plus a short form (target roles, where they live, work setup, languages, and optionally lowest acceptable pay and LinkedIn). No Intake, no usable account; for Pro and Max it starts Workspace setup.

Avoid: onboarding form, profile form, Preferences

The User’s own CV, uploaded at Intake; the source every Tailored CV is built from, so nothing on a Tailored CV may come from anywhere else.

Avoid: resume, Master resume (BUDDi-era)

A User’s private, persistent home for their career data: their Profile, CV, Evaluations and application history. Only Pro and Max Users have one; it is kept on Downgrade. “Espacio de trabajo”.

Avoid: account, sandbox, Volume (an infrastructure word)

Turning a Pro or Max User’s Intake into a ready Workspace, automatically, in about a minute. It is a Run; if it stops (for example an unreadable CV), the User fixes the Intake and it retries. “Preparar tu espacio de trabajo”.

Avoid: provisioning, seeding, onboarding (in anything a User reads)

What Budi knows about the User’s career and goals, drawn from the CV and the Intake; Evaluations score Listings against it. “Perfil”.

Avoid: Preferences

The User’s optional answers to sensitive self-identification questions some application forms ask (gender, ethnicity, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, health). Every answer defaults to “prefer not to say” and is stored only with its own express consent. “Preferencias”.

Avoid: search preferences, Intake answers (those are part of the Profile)

The User’s express acceptance of the current privacy notice (“Acepto el aviso de privacidad”). It counts only for the notice version accepted; when the notice changes, the User accepts again before Budi does any work. Distinct from the separate consent for Preferences.

A company’s own careers page or job site where Budi looks for jobs. “Bolsa de empleo”.

Avoid: portal (in copy)

A Run that checks the User’s Job boards and records the new Listings it finds; it costs no AI spend. “Buscar vacantes”. It is one Run, not the User’s whole job hunt (“tu búsqueda de trabajo”).

Avoid: Discovery, scan (outside code)

A job Budi found (or the User pasted in) that the User has not pursued yet: disposable until it becomes an Opportunity. “Vacante”.

Avoid: job, opening, posting (the posting is the employer’s page; the Listing is Budi’s record of it), Opportunity

Budi’s written judgment of how well one Listing fits the User: a score out of 5, the reasons, and the gaps (“Te falta”). An Evaluation with no score (“Sin calificar”) means the posting could not be read. “Evaluación”; the verb is “calificar”.

Avoid: match score, fit check, oferta (career-ops’ name for it; in Budi “Oferta” is an Opportunity status)

A Listing whose Evaluation scores 4.0 or more out of 5: the bar for tailoring and applying. “Buena coincidencia”.

A job the User has chosen to pursue. It begins when the User tailors a CV for a Listing, and it owns that Listing’s Evaluation, its Tailored CVs, its applications and its status. “Oportunidad”.

Avoid: application, Listing, lead

Where an Opportunity stands: Evaluated (“Evaluada”), Applied (“Aplicada”), Responded (“Respondieron”), Interview (“Entrevista”), Offer (“Oferta”), Hired (“Contratación”), Rejected (“Rechazada”), Discarded (“Descartada”) or Skipped (“Omitida”).

A CV Budi writes from the User’s CV for one Opportunity, in the posting’s language. “CV adaptado”.

Avoid: Tailored resume, custom resume

What an employer receives when the User applies to an Opportunity, whether Budi sent it (a Managed submission) or the User sent it with what Budi prepared. “Aplicación”.

Avoid: postulación (in product copy), submission (when the sender is the User)

Budi filling in and sending an Application on the employer’s form for the User. The User’s click to apply is the consent; Budi shows a screenshot of the filled form. “Aplicar”.

Avoid: auto-apply, Easy Apply, submission approval (BUDDi-era)

A Managed submission that fills the form and takes the screenshot but does not send, so the User can review first. “Prueba sin enviar”.

Avoid: test submission, draft

The screenshot of the filled application form a Managed submission leaves behind. “Captura”.

One piece of work Budi does for a User: a Workspace setup, Job search, Evaluation, tailoring or Managed submission. A User has one Run at a time; each Run is visible while active and stays in Activity and in its Opportunity’s history. “Tarea”.

Avoid: job (collides with Listing), task (in English copy), session

Where a Run stands, as the User sees it: Queued (“En espera”), Running (“En curso”), Done (“Listo”), Needs you (“Te necesita”) or Failed (“Falló”).

Avoid: succeeded, needs human (in anything a User reads)

A Run that stopped because only the User can unblock it, with the reason in plain words: the site needs a login, a bot check blocked the form, the form is not supported yet, a required answer is missing from the Profile, the posting is closed, the User already applied, the form kept rejecting the submission, or (for Workspace setup) the CV could not be read or the Profile could not be completed. A Budi-side problem is a Failed Run, never Needs you. “Te necesita”.

Avoid: needs attention, error

The list of a User’s Runs, newest first, with each one’s state and cost. “Actividad”.

Avoid: history, log (in copy)

The User ending their Budi account (“Cerrar cuenta”): Budi stops all work for them, queued Runs never start, and their data is blocked (kept only for legal obligations, then deleted). Signing in again does not reopen it; reopening is a request to Budi. It is not a Downgrade.

Avoid: delete account, cancel (cancelling a Subscription is a Downgrade)

An organization (a recruitment or talent agency, or a solo headhunter) that runs agent work for its own Users; its people are Agency members. Not built in Budi.

Avoid: Operator (renamed to Agency in 2026-10)

Any User who operates a Budi agent for a task, paid or not (interview prep with the Mentor Personal counts). Not a role and not an Agency member.

Avoid: Operator, Agency member

These appear in sources but cannot be defined without a decision from Mel.

  • Operator (bare): the product definition used it for the person, then for the organization; it was renamed Agency, and “AI Operator” means something unrelated. Do not use bare “Operator” until Budi decides whether Agencies return.
  • Coach: BUDDi named every Plan’s agent “the Coach” and the Mentor Personal “Coach plus teaching”; Budi uses “coach” only as its voice, and Max now includes a human Career Coaching call. Whether “Coach” names anything in Budi is undecided.
  • Max Quotas: “higher than Pro” is decided; the numbers are not.
